Offered is a magnificent ancient bronze sword from the province of Lurestan (also written Lorestan), a province situated in the western region of Iran, near the Zagros mountains. This wonderful bronze sword is estimated to age between 2000 to 1000 BC or 2nd millennium BC. It is intact, demonstrates an excellent shape, with an original green and brownish patina. Its pommel was probably filled with a bone or a leather wrapping. The total length of the ancient Lurestan sword is 21” (53.34 cm), with the blade measuring 16” (40.64 cm) in length, and 2.25” (5.71 cm) in width. The total weight is 449 grams. We will gladly consider any reasonable offers as well.
