In 1992, Ruger® debuted the 22/45™ pistol featuring a fiberglass-reinforced polymer grip frame that virtually replicated the feel of the 1911 Model .45 ACP. This week’s auction item is a Ruger® 22/45™ Government Competition Model pistol. The serial number of this pistol is 224-03740, and the test fire date is July 28, 2000. The pistol was produced for Ruger® distributor, Davidson’s. This pistol is a blued Government Competition Model and it features a 6-7/8 inch slab side bull barrel; a fixed, wide-blade Patridge-type front sight; and a windage-adjustable, square notch, dovetail-mounted rear sight. Note: The rear sight blade is broken and will be replaced before it is shipped to the auction winner. The 1911-style grip frame is made of Zytel composite material. The Ruger eagle logo is stamped on the back of the bolt. The 22/45™ Pistol will be shipped in a gray plastic pistol case along with an original instruction manual and marketing material, and two 10-shot magazines. The pistol is being sold “as is,” and the purchaser assumes all liability for its safe and proper ownership, storage, use, and resale. The pistol is a part of the Ruger factory collection in Southport, Connecticut, and a Certificate of Authenticity will be mailed to the winner of the auction. Please note that the winning bidder of this auction is responsible for paying the Federal Excise Tax.
