Very good condition German Luger pistol in 9mm that has had a long history of service from WWI-WWII. This desirable gun was made by DWM in 1917 and saw service in the German Army during WWI. It then went thru a Weimar Police depot as noted by the PTV (Polizei Technische Veranstalt) proofmark on the Simson barrel with a droop wing "eagle 33" inspector mark. Finally the gun saw a Nazi era repair depot with an HZa 120 (Heeres Zeugamt) eagle proofmark on the right side of the frame. Pistol is serial number #2713 (l) with all matching numbers including the magazine. All markings and proofmarks are crisp and clear. Action is smooth and functions fine. Bore is very good and a little grey with strong rifling. Metal finish is an arsenal original blue with some holster wear. Checkered walnut grips have a tight fit and no crack or chips and are unmarked. Correct type aluminum bottom blued magazine has a matching serial number and the wrong suffix letter, may be an error from one of its trips thru a repair depot. A very desirable German Luger with a long history of military and police service from WWI thru WWII. This matching numbered gun with a scarce HZa proofmark will make a fine addition to a collection or display.
