This is a custom made, solid tungsten Rate Reducer for the FN PS90. This part replaces the stock rate reducer in the PS90 bolt, increasing the mass of the bolt and allowing the bolt to stay in the closed position longer during the firing cycle. This alleviates problems associated with firing full power 5.7x28 ammunition in the PS90 such as the magazine being dislodged by high pressure gases from the breech, and higher stress on the moving parts group.

Installed with commonly available hand tools, no gunsmithing required.

When FN adapted the P90 to the semi-auto only PS90, the only things they changed were the fire control group and the length of the barrel. The P90 platform is a simple blowback design calibrated for the shorter barrel - the longer barrel of the PS90 means that when the bolt opens, the bullet has not yet left the barrel, and the high pressure gas is vented through the breech, slamming the bolt backward and in some cases dislodging the magazine from the rifle. These problems are usually not apparent with commercially available FN made ammunition, which is made to lower pressures than what the 5.7x28 round is rated for. When using full power boutique rounds though, you are likely to encounter these problems, and that is what this Rate Reducer addresses.
