The Cimarron 1873 centerfire repeating rifles aren’t the only Winchester Model 1873 replicas, but they sure are nice ones. These come in four models, each a different caliber. They are 1873 Carbine with Saddle Ring .44 WCF 19" Round Barrel, 1873 Carbine with Saddle Ring .357/.38 Sp. 19" Round Barrel, 1873 Carbine with Saddle Ring .44 Special 19" Round Barrel and 1873 Carbine with Saddle Ring .32 WCF 19" Round Barrel. All four are basically the same except their caliber.

The Winchester Model 1873 was that company’s first centerfire repeating rifle. With their capacious tubes hauled under the barrel, these were the era’s high-capacity arms. Their vaunted lever actions made them fast firing too.

The Winchester Model 1873 debuted in 1873, hence the name, and had an impressive model run of over 700,000 produced before halting in 1923. The 1873 is famous as “The Gun that Won the West.” It was Remington’s marketing tag in the days before tag lines were common.

The 1873 put real firepower in user hands because it was one of the first guns to allow reliable continued firing without reloads between shots. A trained Winchester 1873 rifle user could fire all 15 rounds in about minute. In contrast, a ramrod Springfield musket user might fire three rounds per minute. Not only was this significantly slower, but reloading quickly required standing up, very vulnerably exposed to enemy fire.

The 1873s had an oil-finished walnut stock. Other components were blued steel: the receiver, trigger, trigger guard, iron sights, and the buttplate at the back of the stock.

These models span .357 Magnum/.38 Special, .44-40 (.44WCF), .44 Special and .32-20 (.32 WCF) ammunition. You can get them with blued round barrels, blue receivers and straight stocks.
