Kimber’s K6S CDP .357 Magnum DAO six-shooter revolver stands out from the pack thanks to its concealed carry small frame and snag-free contours, non-stacking match-grade trigger, 2” long barrel, tritium night sights and rosewood grips. In fact, per Kimber, this is the smallest .357 Magnum revolver ever made.

CDP stands for Custom Defense Package. The frame, barrel, trigger and cylinder are all stainless steel while the frame has been further brushed with a black DLC (diamond-like coating). The cylinder, trigger and barrel are brushed for glare reduction and durability. The 1.39” diameter cylinder has six wide flat flutings and recessed chambers. The flutings shed unnecessary weight and decrease width a tad, but the truth is they also just look cool.

Atop the barrel is the tritium front sight that’s pinned in place. In back is a square-notch two-tritium dot dovetailed sight one can easily adjusted for windage. It’s also low-profile to keep the gun snag-free. The sight-radius between the set is 4.1”.

As a double-action gun, there’s no hammer, but there is an internal hammer block for safety. The trigger has a pull-weight that is factory set to 9.5 to 11.5 pounds, which is consistent with its double-action only engineering. The gun delivers with mild recoil.

The rosewood grips are actually laminated, but they are rich, lined and lustrous. In other words, they’re very nicely and professionally done. The grip panels have diamond-checkering that’s interrupted by a recessed flat-head fastening screw. The oval Kimber logo sits low on the grips.

There are at least a couple more nice details. The back of the grip features long vertical serrations that toboggan beautifully down the curves, and the oval push button cylinder release has a nice pyramid checkered surfacing.

The gun’s key metrics include the empty cylinder weight of 23 ounces, 4.46” height, 6.62” overall length and 1.39” width. The Kimber K6S CDP is made in Yonkers, New York, and is thus Made in USA.
