Magnum Research’s BFR (Big Frame Revolver) is a powerful, elegant and accurate modern take on a classic. The Made in USA Magnum spans 10 different calibers and two different brushed stainless frame sizes providing an impressive number of choices.

For starters, there are long cylinder and short cylinder options. The 5-round long cylinder has 7.5” and 10” barrel lengths that come out to a gargantuan 15” and 17.5” respectively. This covers .30/30 WIN, .444 Marlin, .450 Marlin, .45LC/.410, .45/70 Government, .460 S&W and .500 S&W. These guns are 6” tall and 1.75” across their roll marked cylinders that are smooth except their cylinder stop notches.

Sights are an elevated black fixed front sight and an adjustable rear one cantilevered slightly behind the frame thus elongating the sight radius for increased sighting stability and hence accuracy. Trigger pull is 4 to 5 pounds and the guns weigh 4.5 to 5.3 pounds.

There are various short cylinder models that cover .357 Magnum, .454 Casull, .44 Magnum, .50 AE, .500 JRH, .500 Linebaugh, 475 Linebaugh ammo. Of these, the .357 Magnum and .44 Magnum have 6-round cylinders while the rest are 5-cylinder models. These come in 5.0”, 6.5” and 7.5” barrel lengths with overall lengths that are 11.25”, 12.75” and 13.75” respectively. These are otherwise the same as their long cylinder siblings in height, width, trigger pull, sights, etc.

In all cases, these guns have fluted stress relieved barrels, extended black grip handles and newly redesigned hammers. Well, all except one: the long cylinder white polymer Bisley grip handle version that has an extraordinary truss latticework vent rib.
