The 6+1 capacity Remington 870 Police (aka Remington 870P RS, as in “Rifle Sights”) pump-action shotgun is a rugged 12-gauge with a short, tactical 18” barrel backed by a stout 3” chamber. The all-matte black gun is Parkerized for generalized durability and rust-resistance. The barrel is crested by rifle sights and fronted by an improved cylinder (IC) choke. Both the pump action forend and stock are robust and tough synthetic.

The 870 Police has a comfortable 14” length of pull. The stock top is defined by its 1.5” drop at comb that slopes down to the 2.5” drop at heel. The magazine tube reaches forward to end just under the muzzle, providing the gun’s 6+1 capacity. Overall length is 38.5”, and weight is 7.5 pounds.

As you’d expect from a Remington, this has texturing where it needs it. Thus, the pump-action is ribbed, and the gracefully curved grip is diamond-checkered. You also get front and rear swivel studs.

Other versions of this gun are largely the same as above but with a blued finish for the large metal components and an American walnut for the pump and stock. These had shorter magazine tubes rendered capacity to just 4+1 but also dropped weight a tad to 7.25 pounds.
