The Tikka T3 Lite bolt-action rifle lineup provides high quality, accuracy and lightweight portability into a fine-looking package. The T3 Lite was part of the T3 series that debuted in 2003 but is currently no longer in production having been supplanted by the improved T3x series.

The T3 has two 4+1 capacity offerings: 204 Ruger (1:12” twist ratio) and 222 Rem (1:14”). But then it has 19 more calibers in 3+1 capacity! They are 22-250 Rem (1:14”), 243 Win (1:10”), 260 Rem (1:8”), 7mm-08 Rem (1:9.5”), 308 Win (1:11”), 338 Federal (1:10”), 25-06 Rem (1:10”), 6.5x55 SE (1:8”), 270 Win (1:10”), 7x64 (1:10”), 30-06 Sprg (1:11”), 8x57IS (1:9.5”), 9.3x62 (1:14”), 7mm Rem Mag (1:9.5”), 300 Win Mag (1:11”), 338 Win Mag (1:10”), 270 Win Short Mag (1:10”) and finally, 300 Win Short Mag (1:11”)! Whew!

Overall weight depending on model is around 6.25 pounds. The cold hammer forged blued barrels run 20” and 22.44” standard to 44.375” for Magnum calibers. Overall length ranges from 40.18” and 42.5” for standard to 44.5” for Magnum. Length of pull is a minimum of 13.2”, but this can be lengthened using included spacers.

The Tikka T3 Lite has two locking lugs, plunger ejection and more. The T3 Lite uses the slick two-lug T3 bolt that’s designed for easy maintenance and reliability. The guns can be had in both right-handed and left-handed models.

The free-floating hand-crowned barrels are made of either high grade stainless steel or carbon-infused Chromoly steel alloy, which is a great bang-for-the-buck material. All the guns use single row fiberglass-reinforced synthetic detachable magazines. The guns come without sights, but have a 17mm dovetail rail.

The T3 series uses T3 TrueBody matte black fiberglass-reinforced polymer stocks or high-grade walnut ones. These stocks feature generous areas of checkering on the forend and grip and a pair of perfectly positioned sling swivel studs in front and back. The guns have a two-stage safety that blocks the bolt handle and the single-stage trigger that’s easily adjustable across a range of 2 to 4 pounds of pull pressure.

Tikka is a brand of SAKO of Finland. But originally, the company stood on its own as Tikkakoski. It started operations in the late 1800s. It made guns for decades and was finally absorbed by SAKO. SAKO continues to keep the brand name as an homage to the original company and makes Tikka rifles in Riihimäki, Finland about 50 miles north of Helsinki.
