Another "No Reserve" Penny " photo penny.gif"Auction from
 Fine Estate & Consignment Firearms!

This auction is for a Remington Nylon 66 "MB" Mohawk Brown 22 semi automatic rifle. PICTURES?? It was decided to take the pictures of the gun in the box. If taken out for our normal number of pictures we usually have we would of had to wipe off and clean the complete rifle. By doing that we would of cleaned off the original packing metal protective grease. Along with the joint flashing material that occurs at the joint when the stocks are put together. It is much simpler to say the rifle is in "NEW IN THE BOX" condition and is only in that condition once. Cleaning it up for the pictures would have taken all of that away. The rifle is in the original serial number matching box with all the paperwork and hang tag. The paper that sets under the parts where it sits on the styrofoam is also still in the box. The rifle wears the barrel code of "OD" making it manufactured in July of 1983 and 35 years old and a rare find anymore.

Remember making the Nylon 66 was a risky gamble for Remington at the time. The actual DuPont material was structural Zytel Nylon 101 which was a member of the Nylon 66 family of plastics. The prototype rifle was tested fired 75,000 times with a malfunction rate of only 0.005 percent. Refinements to this prototype continued through the summer and fall of 1955. Testing continued to ensure there would be no distortions during molding and that stock shrinkage would not occur after the rifles were assembled. On May 2, 1958, Remington changed the model designation from Model 555 to Nylon 66. The final model was approved by management on December 17, 1958. Around 4,500 Nylon 66s were made in late 1958 for shipment with a retail price in January 1959 of $49.95. The Nylon 66 was called the “Gun Of Tomorrow” and advertising heavily by Remington. Remington ads said: “This is the rifle trappers depend on from Hudson Bay to the Everglades. The only .22 that Alaskan fisherman find able to withstand the attacks of corrosive sea spray—To protect their nets from marauding sea lions!” Remington claimed “lubricant-free nylon ball bearings throughout the mechanism eliminate the need for lubricants of the functional parts of this rifle.”
In 1959, Tom Frye who was a field representative for Remington set out to surpass Ad Topperwein’s world record (set in 1907) of shooting 72,500 2½" wooden blocks as they were tossed into the air while missing only nine. Frye used three Nylon 66 rifles and maintained an average pace of 1,000 shots per hour (one shot every four seconds) for 13 consecutive eight-hour days. When finished he had shot at 100,010 blocks and hit 100,004, missing only six! The rifles were cleaned only five times during the Marathon trial.

It will be shipped fully insured to your FFL dealer UPS Ground for $40 with signature required. With the gun shipped in the the original box inside a new double walled outer box.

Payment ~ At the end of an auction Gun Broker sends out an email stating that you are the winning bidder. Contained in that email is a "PAY NOW" link you can use to pay for the auction immediately. Or, payment can be with a USPS Postal Money Order, check or Certified Bank Check. We also accept Visa, Master Card and Discover with a 3% convenience fee added to your total. Those payment methods ship the same day, as long as it is a week day. If not, the next working UPS day. Personal and business checks are accepted but will delay shipping from 7 to 10 working days for it to clear our bank. Remember clearing our bank not your bank since we have no control over the time frame.
Shipping your Firearm ~ Long Guns are sent UPS ground fully insured to your FFL dealer or C&R holder when valid on the firearm. Handguns are sent USPS Priority Mail, insured, to your FFL dealer or C&R holder when valid on the firearm. Please note that gun purchases cannot be “picked up” at our location. The "VALID" C&R holder is the person whose name is on the C&R License, and is the "SAME" person who won the auction! NO EXCEPTIONS! We ship Monday through Friday so your gun reaches you in a timely manner. Once payment and FFL are in hand, we ship the next business day. And email you the delivery date and tracking number at that time!
Inspection Period ~ All used firearms come with a 3-day inspection privilege. Inspection period begins the day of delivery to your FFL. It is your responsibility to inspect the gun in that time frame. In the case of a return, buyer pays all return costs. This does not cover items damaged in shipment; you must save the damaged shipping box and file a claim with the appropriate shipping company. All items must be in the exact condition that they left us in. The inspection period does not include the firing of the firearm. If the Buyer does fire the firearm at any time during the inspection period, the sale is considered final. Inspection consists of external examination, working the action by hand to see it operates, checking bore and having the headspace checked by a gunsmith. No further disassembly is permitted, includes but not limited to turning any screws or removing any punch pins.
Shipping Requirements ~ All firearms are shipped to your FFL or a valid C&R holder if the firearm qualifies for it. A copy of your dealers FFL must be in hand before we ship! The same applies for a C&R holder. Any firearm that qualifies for "Antique" status will be shipped directly to the winning bidder. A copy of bidder's driver's license for proof of age will be needed. We ship ship "5" days a week, Monday through Friday!
Contact and Local Pickup ~ Please note that purchases cannot be “picked up” at our location. If you need to contact us about the auction our email address and phone number are included in the invoice that is sent to the winning bidder.
End of Auction~ We send out an email directly at the end of the auction to the winning bidder. This is done through the Gun Broker system and sent to the email that you registered with and is on file. Please make sure that email is current with Gun Broker! There are instructions on how to complete the purchase included in that email.
Please Note ~ Modern firearms must be transferred to your FFL dealer. This is done once payment has cleared and your dealer's FFL license is in hand. The FFL may be sent by email or mail. A C&R license is acceptable for C&R firearms only (guns determined to be C&R’s by ATF and/or guns known to be at least 50 years old). Please note that a C&R license is only valid for the person to whom it is issued! We will not accept your friend's C&R license for a firearm YOU won. California Residents: We will ship to California whenever legal to do so. Many older handguns cannot be shipped into California due to your State's Restrictions. If the handgun in this auction is not on the current California Roster of Certified Handguns, DO NOT BID! The list can be checked here: CALIFORNIA HANDGUN ROSTER. C&R Handguns are exempt from this restriction however California law will NOT allow shipment of C&R HANDGUN directly to the C&R holder. It must be shipped to an FFL licensed 01 dealer. We can ship C&R LONG GUNS directly to a California C&R holder but only if that C&R holder ALSO has a current California Certificate of Eligibility (COE). New York Residents: Handguns cannot be shipped directly to a C&R holder in the State of New York and must be transferred through a dealer. Antique cartridge handguns require an FFL transfer in New York City. Antique firearms require bidder to supply proof of age. Some areas still require an FFL transfer for antique & black powder firearms (New Jersey, NYC, etc.)
