Manufactured by Pedersoli in Italy, this is a reproduction of an 1847 elegant target rifle produced by Swiss rifle maker Marc Bristlen in the town of Morges. .44 Caliber Blackpowder – browned 29 1/2" tapered octagon heavy barrel measuring 1 ¼” at breech to 1" at muzzle. The bore is button rifled .008" deep, 1-26" twist, 4 lands .442" and 4 grooves .458". Nipple is 1/4x28 and uses #11 percussion caps - recommended load: 40 grains of FFFg black and .440 conical bullet. The front sight is 3/8" dovetail, hooded post and rear sight is Creedmore style adjustable for windage and elevation. It has a double set/double phase triggers - palm rest – steel ramrod – false muzzle - case colored hardware - American walnut satin finished half-stock with a 3 ½” drop - 13" trigger LOP - overall length is 48 1/2" and total weight is 15 1/2 lbs. The wood has gorgeous dark grain with some burl & birds-eyes. Mechanically sound; functions like new & the bore is mint. It remains in high condition with only minor handling marks but no damage of any kind. The original owner has only fired it on a couple of occasions & always stored it properly. This is a beautiful rifle & will be dead accurate. Dixie Gun Works sell these new for $2,995.00.
