Look for the gold '55 Chevy road sign! ~Trades and offers are always considered~ NO RESERVE PENNY AUCTION! Civil War Era M1849 Colt Percussion Pocket Revolver, .31 Cal, mfg. 1853 with 4" barrel. This is a nice little representation of Colt's famous '49 pocket pistol which saw extensive use throughout the Civil War. Matching serial number "70959" on the frame, barrel, and cylinder, with the backstrap and triggerguard numbered "296276" (mfg. 1867). The hammer, trigger, wedge, and loading lever are nicely fitted reproductions. The metal has an even dark blue/gray color throughout while the brass backstrap and triggerguard show an untouched mellow patina with blackened traces of Silver finish remaining within protected areas. The wood grips fit perfectly and retain 40% original varnish. They show moderate wear with one corner chip on the right side behind the triggerguard. Most screws appear to be replacements. The original brass bead front sight has been sheared off at the base and the muzzle has been flattened slightly. Clear barrel address, caliber marking, and "COLT'S PATENT" stamp. Some of the serial numbers are very faint while others are clearly legible. There is no cylinder scene remaining. The action is very crisp and functions perfectly. All nipples are clean originals. Very good bore with strong and sharp rifling front to back and only light blackpowder frosting. A nice little Colt for any Civil War or antique arms enthusiast!
