Stunning Bright Polished Dan Wesson 715 Pistol Pack WITH 2 BARRELS. NIB. D&W 715 model is designed and built to be the most accurate, rugged and versatile revolver on the market. Shipped with a 2.5",6" inch barrels with the heavy vent shroud profile tames the .357's recoil very well. Its double action trigger is short and light, while the single action is light and crisp. The target-like SA trigger pull made the Dan Wesson revolver a favorite among competitors and hunters, and the tradition continues in the 715. Barrel assemblies and grips are easily swapped by the shooter, and the 715 accepts grips and barrel/shroud assemblies from 15-2 model and newer revolvers. The tensioned barrel of the DW interchangeable barrel system enhances accuracy, pulling the barrel tight like a guitar string, enabling it to vibrate at the same frequency every time. Its forward crane latch, is located in front of the cylinder and paired with a rear ball detent that helps to ensure proper cylinder/barrel alignment during firing. Additionally, the clockwise-rotating cylinder reduces stress on the crane, since it turns in the same direction the crane locks, prolonging service life and keeping everything tight. Each revolver is shipped in a custom Dan Wesson hard case. Patterned after the ever-popular Pistol Pack, each case has compartments for three additional barrel assemblies and factory-supplied barrel wrench kit. The 715 Pistol Pack ships with 2.5" and 6 inch barrel lengths. One for Conceal carry and one for hunting/target shooting. Here is a little History of Dan Wesson. The company was founded in 1968 by Dan B. Wesson. Karl R. Lewis invented the main features of Dan Wesson Revolvers. The company has seen lots of struggles and various changes in ownership throughout its history. After the purchase of Smith & Wesson by the Bangor-Punta manufacturing concern, Daniel B. Wesson set out to open his own manufacturing operation in order to produce high quality, American made revolvers for service as well as competition use. Wesson was aware of Karl Lewis's modular designs which had been proposed during Lewis's tenure with Browning, and then further refined during a period spent with High Standard. Having purchased a former school building in Monson, Massachusetts, Wesson signed a production agreement with Lewis, and began setting up the necessary machining and manufacturing equipment. Urging Lewis to prepare prototypes for display at major gun shows, Wesson began tirelessly promoting the company, while working to build a sales network as well as a positive perception of the fledgling company. Way back in the 1980s Dan Wesson Arms produced some of the finest, most accurate, and popular large- and medium-frame revolvers ever made in America. In the demanding sport of handgun metallic shooting–where competitors are required to use open sights to knock down life-size, heavy steel (up to 60 pounds) representations of chickens, pigs, turkeys, and desert bighorns out to 200 meters–Dan Wesson revolvers literally owned the ranges. Dan Wesson revolvers regularly captured 70 to 80 percent of the top places in the highest categories of these competitions year after year at local, state, regional, and national matches and at the annual International Championships. Dan Wesson revolvers still hold more records and titles in that sport than all other makes of revolvers combined. Despite this record of success, however, Dan Wesson was a small company as compared to other famous-name handgun makers, and during the 1990s it fell on hard times. It went through a series of largely unsuccessful financial reorganizations and ownership changes with relocations of factories and erratic production, and it fell pretty much off the firearms industry radar except for die-hard long-range revolver fans. In 2010 Dan Wesson Firearms Co. was purchased by CZ-USA. Please look at the pictures for details. Add this Classic Gun to your Collection today. Dan and Wesson Collector Packs seem to rise in value and continue to be highly sought after by collectors and shooting enthusiast alike. Please ask any questions before bidding.
