British Government Arsenal PIAT (Projector Infantry Anti Tank)

You are bidding on a used British Government Arsenal PIAT

British Government Arsenal PIAT (Projector Infantry Anti Tank) The PIAT is a Spigot Mortar system that was developed in WWII and entered into service in 1943 as an infantry anti tank weapon. The spring loaded launcher fired a High Explosive projectile with an effective range of roughly 100 yards. The system would need to be cocked for the first round and then the recoil of the projectile would re-cock the gun for the next shot. The design had its advantages such as ; Inexpensive to produce, Low muzzle flash which kept the operator concealed at close range, low noise signature, and effectiveness against tanks at close range. It was used in: the Allied invasion of Italy, the Soviet Union, the French resistance, the Polish Underground, and the Arab Israeli war. The PIAT featured a flip up sighting system and adjustable monopod since it was best fired from the prone ground position. Roughly 39 inches in length and Weighing in at 39 pounds plus each bomb was about 2.5 pounds It usually had a two man support team, one to operate the weapon and one to carry and insert the projectiles. It was eventually replaced by the American Bazooka.

Ground shipping is included in the price.
