Its 1920 and John Browning has invented a nifty new automatic carbine for a cartridge based on the .30 Pederson case. Remington records show that is to be headstamped “REM-UMC 30 BAR” but for now Pederson cases are used and loaded with a longer, heavier bullet for the carbine. The gun is demonstrated and tested in France but they’re not interested, at least not in the gun. The cartridge, however, is eventually adopted as their official pistol and sub-machine gun round! Here we have the original experimental round as it came from the box whose label is next to it. The empty box is also available for $250. The headstamp is “R A 19” and it has the long, tin-plated bullet (too long to fit in the Pederson Device) for the Carbine. Here is your chance to own this unique piece of Browning/Remington history. Thanks for looking, and please email us with any questions PRIOR to bidding. Winning bidder pays $15 shipping (UPS , insured). Post Office money order assures quick shipping; other checks are accepted, but must clear. For complete information on the enjoyment of cartridge collecting, visit www.cartridgecollectors.org
