Offered for auction is one full and complete box of Winchester 30 W.C.F. also know as 30-30 cartridges with 170 grain Soft Point Bullets. This is also known as a transition box since both the 30 W.C.F and 30-30 designation are used. When Winchester first introduced the 30-30 cartridge in 1895, it was simply known as the 30 W.C.F.(Winchester Center Fire cartridge) and both rifles and cartridges were so marked. As these cartridges are marked. At a later date, people began calling this the 30-30 cartridge because it was loaded with 30 grain of smokeless powder not black powder and the name was changed. Winchester also introduced this one piece style box in 1935 and three (3) variations were issued. This first 1935 box is marked with the Winchester address in red on a blue line on the lower front panel. In 1939 the Western Cartridge Co. address appeared on a side label and in 1945 the address was changed to Division of Olin Industries. This last box lasted for only about one year when a new box style was introduced. This is a very desirable red, yellow and blue box and will display well any collection. The pictures show the condition of the box and ammo much better than I can describe them. By bidding on this ammunition, you are certifying you are over 21 years of age and there are no federal, state or local laws prohibiting your purchase or possession of this ammo. You are responsible to know your local laws.
