I'm selling the entire collection from an Estate, please before bidding read all the auction terms. Amongst them here is a scarce Antique Colt Model 1878 side by side with exposed hammer. FFL is not required for the transfer (made in 1888). It’s chambered 12 GA nitro-black powder. The model 1878 was made from 1878 to 1889, with approximately 22,680 were manufactured. Colt Co. competed closely with the high end Parkers shotguns. The Colt model 1878 double barrel hammer shotguns is considered to be, if not the finest, it ranks among the finest American double barrel shotguns ever made. In good shape & working condition, 28" Damascus steel barrels turning patina, with clean chambers, good bore with few tiny pin prick erosion, should clean to excellent. The factory damascus finish rates 30% with surface rust with little dents all visible on the pictures, all markings are sharp and well defined, the casehardening is mainly gone, serial number: 7338. It would result in a noticeable with a judicious cleaning. The wood of forearm is good & original with chipped edge, the stock has no cracks. I described it to the best of my knowledge. Please don't ask for extra pictures. Buyer is responsible for knowing all laws pertaining to this transaction. The brass cases shown on the pictures are not for sale. I will ship the gun to the 48 contiguous States for $45 to your door with your proof of age (driver license). Item is payable by money order, cashier check or add 4% extra if you pay with credit card (you will have to provide your C.C. infos either by phone or safely by email). Free shipping (USA only), no extra charge of 4% for credit card only if you use the "Buy Now" option. Payment must be received within 7 days of the auction ending. Like all older guns it should be not fired until checked by a reliable and competent gunsmith. Please note this item is also for sale locally and the sale is not final until you receive an email confirmation from me. To all of those people who like to place my items in their watch list in the hopes that the price in time will decrease, sorry it's not going to happen as it's justly priced. Please do not bid on this item if you do not intend to pay for it. Recently too many people are doing this. Please have a look at my other auctions as many more items will be listed in the near future. Thank you
