How to Purchase a Firearm Online

Easy!   Two things we require:

1.) Payment:  If you are the winning bidder, you will receive payment instructions in a confirmation email when the auction ends.  We accept credit cards (3% fee), money orders, personal checks, and certified checks. 

2.) Federal Firearms License (FFL):  We must ship all firearms to a verified FFL holder.  Include your name and the auction number in every correspondence.

- Due to increased volume during the holidays your order may take upwards of 5 business days to process and ship. You will receive an automated email with tracking information as soon as your order ships. Outside of holidays most orders ship within one to two business days.

Product Photos

- All photos used are stock unless specifically noted otherwise in the details (there will be text saying you will receive the firearm shown in the photos along with the serial number of that firearm). We do not shoot unique photos for each auction listing. So some photos of new items maybe wrong if so please contact us. 
- If you are bidding on a new item, the serial number for the item you receive may not match the photo used (unless we specifically say otherwise and provide the serial number). We use many warehouse for our product, so please do not ask us for picture of wood, metal, custom serial, etc
- All of our photos are copyrighted and may not be used, duplicated, reproduced, or copied for any purpose. If you are a seller looking for photos we suggest that you obtain photos from the manufacturer or invest in your own in-house photo studio.

Product Warranties

All new firearms and accessories are warranted by their respective manufacturers ONLY. All repair and replacement work will be honored by them. All guns we sell are brand new in box (unless stated otherwise) and have full manufacturers warranties. We will work with all customer to ensure they are able to take advantage of the manufacturer's warranty but we do not warranty the items No Exception. These items are located in MFG warehouse and are not open, display, used, alterered, etc by Dodds Sporting Good. So again if you are no please with firearm, you must deal with the manufacture.

Please note:  It is your responsibility to thoroughly inspect your purchase prior to taking delivery from your dealer.  If there is any damage or defect not specified in the auction please contact us immediately and DO NOT take possession of the firearm.  We will not reimburse any dealer, shipping, transfer fees, parts or repairs for damage or defects found after you have taken possession of the firearm.  

Terms & Conditions 

- All sales final. No Exceptions 
- We reserve the right to cancel the transaction.
- Approval required before in-store pickups. Because of the discounted online pricing most in-store pickups will be subject to a transfer fee.

-Local customers please call and verify product is in retail store, product may be in our warehouse. That may require 2-3 business days to transfer to retail store.

Buyer Responsibility / Legal Ownership Limitations

- This is the buyer's responsibility to ensure that the item being purchased is legal to own in your city / state. Verify with your local FFL dealer if you are not 100% sure that it is legal. This is required for residents of California, Connecticut, New York, Maryland, Massachusetts and New Jersey.
- Magazines that violate capacity restrictions will not be shipped or substituted. You must know your laws. 
- No refunds are given if the weapon is transferred (20% restocking fee applies if firearm is returned to us and it must be untransferred new condition as when shipped). Once firearm is transfer all problems will be resolved with the manufacture. As started we do not display, shoot, handle, etc of these items. They are located in warehouses. 

Shipping & Handling

- Shipping & handling for this item is calculated for the lower 48 states. Our shipping fee pays for packaging, postage and handling.
- email for a quote before bidding if you live outside the lower 48 states. All rifles and shotguns shipped outside the lower 48 states must be shipped via USPS Express, UPS 2nd Day Air, or UPS Next-Day Air. Price will vary depending on service.
- Adult signature confirmation is included and required for all firearm shipments. If your receiving FFL dealer is not available to sign for the package the carriers generally make an additional delivery attempt. If the item is not delivered by the carrier due to buyer not available. You are subject to shipping cost again to get the package resent. Do not ask for a refund. 

Insuring Your Shipment

Insurance is provided on your behalf to protect your item(s) from loss or damage in transit. The cost of this service is based on the total value of the shipment at the rate of $1.50 per $100 and is rounded up to the nearest $100 of valuation. You must add insurance to your final purchase. Dodd's Sporting Goods is not responsible for uninsured items lost or damaged by UPS or USPS.

Shipping Firearms

- Firearms must be shipped to a receiving FFL dealer.
- We will ship upon receipt of payment and signed legible copy of dealer's FFL via fax, mail or email.  (304) 869-3220  [email protected]

Sales Tax

- West Virginia residents add $6.00% sales tax.
- We are not  required to collect sales tax on out of state shipments and therefore we don't. We cannot guarantee your receiving dealer won't charge tax though.

Product Availability

- We operate a full time gun store which means that every auction item is NOT for sale at our location (very few items we sell are actually in our retail store but they are in our warehouse). 
- On rare occasions an auction item may be sold in the store before we notice your bid and if that happens we will notify you immediately. We reserve the right to cancel any order, auction, or buy it now 

PRICING AND DISCOUNTS:

We strive to be as competitive as possible in the online market with everything we sell. In order to achieve this goal, we typically work with minimal profit margins on all of our items. The opening bid price is always our best one, and is offered to all our customers.  For this reason we do not offer any further discounts for multiple orders,

After Auction Completion

- After you have won an auction or buy it now. Please checkout thru the online processing. 

Auction Cancellations

- All auction and order cancellations are subject to a 20% cancellation fee in addition to the final value and relisting fees. 
- If you bought an item that is not legal in your state. You are required 20% cancellation fee in addition to the final value and relisting fees. We do not offer try before you buy!!!

Federal law requires that you must be at least 18 years old to purchase shotgun ammunition and 21 years or older to purchase handgun and rifle ammunition.

• We ship ammunition to your door via UPS ground.
• Ammunition and firearms must be purchased separately.
• For safety reasons, we do not accept returns on ammunition.
• Always make sure you use the correct ammunition for your specific firearm. 
• Check your local laws for any other regulations before ordering.

Firearms Restrictions

Air Gun Restrictions

Air guns are restricted in the following locations:
Hawaii, Illinois, Massachusetts, Michigan, New Jersey, Washington D.C., and New York.

Restrictions on High Capacity Magazines

If a state is not listed below then higher capacity magazines may be legal. Please check your local laws before ordering large capacity magazines.

A large capacity magazine is any ammunition feeding device with the capacity to accept more than prohibited by the city or state. 

California
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.

Colorado
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds or 8 shotgun shells begining July 1, 2013.

Connecticut
Bans the possession, sell, purchase, or transfer of a detachable magazine that has a capacity of more than 10 rounds. For purchases of magazines 10 rounds or less we must have your ACE or Pistol Permit and State ID on file.

Hawaii
Ammunition magazines with a capacity in excess of ten rounds are prohibited.

Aurora, Illinois
Bans the possession, sale, or acquisition of large capacity feeding devices.
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds.

Chicago, Illinois
Bans the transfer, acquisition or possession of assault ammunition.
Prohibits magazines having a capacity or more than 10 rounds.

Franklin Park, Illinois
Bans the transfer, acquisition, possession, manufacture or distribution or assault ammunition.
Prohibits magazines having a capacity of more than 16 rounds.

Oak Park, Illinois
Bans the possession and sale of large capacity feeding devices.
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.

Riverdale, Illinois
Bans the possession, transfer, acquisition or manufacture of assault ammunition.
Magazine with a capacity of more than 35 rounds.

Maryland
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.

Massachusetts
Bans the sale, transfer or possession of large capacity feeding devices for assault weapons.
Prohibits magazines with a capacity or more than 10 rounds, or 5 rounds for Shotguns.

New Jersey 
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 15 rounds.

Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.

Washington D.C.
Bans the possession and sale of large capacity feeding devices.
Prohibits magazines with a capacity of more than 10 rounds.
