Good marketing often starts with a great name. The rubric Alex Pro Firearms APF 450 Bushmaster Carbine leaves little to the imagination. It’s straight and to the point, much like the gun itself. So at the risk of being very redundant, the APF stands for Alex Pro Firearms. It’s a carbine wrapped around 450 Bushmaster caliber and powered by a low-profile mid-length gas system.

The gun’s focal point is its 16” medium contour barrel. It’s made of stainless steel and has a 1 to 24” twist. It’s fronted by a multi-chamber APF 450 Brake that is made in-house and fastened on via an 11/16”x24 TPI thread.

Above the barrel and receiver is a 12.5” APF free-floating handguard. It has the typical raised roof octagonal cross-section profile, and MLOK slots in all eight directions. Atop the roof is 12.5” long Picatinny rail that continues nearly seamlessly over the upper receiver. The APF 450 also comes with a 2” accessory Picatinny rail that can be attached pretty much anywhere on the handguard.

The grip is a MAGPUL MOE with aggressive texturing on the sides and horizontal grip serrations at front and back. The grip includes an integrated beavertail for increased comfort and has a hidden storage compartment accessed from its bottom.

In back is the vaunted MAGPUL MOE triangular skeleton stock. It has six positions and is easily set using a squeeze lever. At bottom center, is a single-stage trigger.
