The Anderson Manufacturing AM-15 has a comprehensive lineup of .300 AAC Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39mm and 5.56 NATO chambered AR-15s. These span a variety of barrel lengths, two finishes, sights and three stock options.

Whatever you get, it’ll be all-black. Both upper receiver and lower receiver are made of forged 7075-T6 aluminum, well known for its tensile strength, durability and light weight. It’ll have a standard A2 pistol grip and a straight flat trigger-guard between the flared magwell and the pistol grip.

Barrels are 4150 Chrome Moly Vanadium Steel. Lengths start at 7.5” for the pistol variants available for 5.56 NATO or .300 AAC Blackout. These have a skeletonized M-LOK handguard and a full-length continuous Picatinny accessory rail along the top of the upper receiver and handguard. In front is a crowned flash suppressor threaded onto the barrel.

Next are the 10.5” barrel guns. Anderson provides these without any stock so you can fit your own. Here too, you have 5.56 NATO or .300 AAC Blackout choices.

But it’s with 16” carbine-length barrels that Anderson provides the greatest latitude of choices. The 16” barrels include .300 AAC Blackout, 6.5 Grendel, 7.62x39mm and 5.56 NATO. Many components look familiar, like they were OEM from someone else. But actually, Anderson makes so many components in-house.

For instance, the handguard is a 12" Anderson MLOK Handguard. In back is a lever-activated 6-position lever-adjustable buttstock. Even the A2 pistol grip is made by Anderson. The barrel is fronted by an Anderson Knight Stalker flash hider that uses a ½-36” TPI thread! And note, alternatively you can get a standard A2 handguard instead.

With these you get a low-profile mid-length gas system. The 16” barrel guns ship standard with a 30-round curved box ACS magazine.

You can get these guns with either a Parkerized-only or a Parkerized finish that’s further treated with RF-85. RF-85 is Anderson Manufacturing’s premium finish. The moniker stands for Reduce Friction 85 Percent. It’s used on guns and even in the medical industry. You’ll see RF-85 in white letters on RF-85 treated AM-15s. This nice protective coating infuses calcium into the gun’s metal parts. The result? RF-85 treated guns never need to be lubricated/oiled and can be cleaned simply with soap and water.

Anderson Manufacturing is based in Hebron, Kentucky. Their extensive lineup of AR-15s should provide a choice for many different consumer niches!
