Arcadia Machine & Tool, or AMT, was a firearms manufacturer from Irwindale, California, commonly known for producing the AutoMag pistol. Originally opened under the name Auto Mag Corporation, the company opened and re-opened under various names from 1973 to 1982, including, most recently, Arcadia Machine and Tool (AMT).

When AMT went out of business, the brand was acquired by Irwindale Arms Inc. of Irwindale, CA. They continued to produce firearms from 1988-1991. In 1998 Galena Industries purchased the AMT brand and the manufacturing rights of most AMT pistol models. They proceeded to market the pistols under their model names. In 2005, High Standard Manufacturing Company, formerly known as Crusader Gun Company, Inc. of Houston, TX acquired Galena Industries.

The AutoMag II pistol is a semi-automatic handgun with a .22 caliber and single-action trigger. This firearm has a stainless-steel frame, 9-round magazine and slide mounted firing pin block safety. The AutoMag II frame is only 0.79-inch wide, while the width of the grip is 2 inches. This firearm was originally offered with three barrel lengths: 3-3/8, 4-1/2 and 6 inches. The AutoMag comes in 4 different models: Auto-mag II, III, IV, and V.

The AMT Backup is a smaller, semi-automatic, blowback-operated weapon available in a variety of calibers such as 9mm, .38 Super, .45 Auto. This gun was produced with a single-action and double-action only trigger mechanism and can hold 5-6 round magazines. The AMT Backup can be equipped with manual safety and grip safety. AMT’s Hardballer pistol is a semi-auto 1911-style pistol, chambered in 45 ACP. Made from stainless steel, it comes equipped with adjustable rear sights and a loaded chamber indicator. The Hardballer model comes in another model called the Hardballer Longslide, which has the same qualities as the original, but with the slide and barrel lengthened 2 inches longer than the original 8.5 inch length.
