The Arsenal SLR-106 FR 5.56x45mm semi-automatic rifle is from Arsenal’s SLR-106 lineup, which descends from Soviet AK-47 Kalashnikov DNA. This FR model includes a left-side folding polymer stock. The gun uses a stamped receiver rather than a milled one Arsenal uses in many of its other guns.

The 16.33” barrel is hammer-forged, and chrome lined for durability. It has a 6-groove 1:7.8” twist ratio. Exhaust gases vent from the barrel to power the system.

The gun’s key features include the left-side folding Warsaw Pact length black polymer buttstock, stainless steel heat shield handguards and its 2-stage fire control group (FCG). It has a 24mm muzzle brake, bayonet lug and a cleaning rod. Total length including the muzzle brake is 36.89”, but fold the stock and length drops to 27.36”.

Then later, Arsenal was able to realize improvements in the stamped receiver process that make such guns lightweight and accurate.
