The Auto Ordnance Revolution Custom 1911 pistols are 7+1 capacity .45 ACP M1911 semi-automatics with a unique matte clear coat over a distressed Midnight Blue Cerakote finish. The amazing totality is a fine weathered patina even when brand new. But add the amazing real solid copper grips, and you might wonder if the dazzling totality is something Paul Revere might have made for Samuel Adams or John Hancock had M1911s existed in 1775.

The Auto Ordnance Revolution Custom 1911 pistols have a full-size 5.0” barrel, 8.6” overall lengths and weigh 2.3 pounds.

This Made in USA model’s historical themed engravings are a non-too subtle homage to the American Revolution with different wording and engravings on its right and left sides. The right slide features the famed Betsy Ross circle of 13 stars flag billowing near the muzzle. Moving back, you’ll see the faces and signatures of Founding Fathers Benjamin Franklin, John Adams, George Washington, John Hancock and Paul Revere. After Revere’s tricorn hat-covered head is a depiction of the Boston Tea Party. The model’s left features an engraved Gadsden Flag, Paul Revere’s ride and “Give Me Liberty or Give Me Death” above a cannon.

Moving down are the solid copper grips anchored top and bottom by a pair of hex fasteners. These grips are some of the most beautiful grips you’ll ever see. Even if they lacked the engraved Revolution motifs, they would stand out as breathtaking. The right features the Liberty Bell while the left grip has an eagle head above a partially scrolled Declaration of Independence.

Beyond that, this M1911 is superbly classic from its barrel-vaulted slide with a clean front but vertical slide serrations in back to GI sights, finger recesses behind the trigger and timeless proportions. You have a blade sight in front and a dovetailed drift adjustable sight in back. You have the manual thumb safety and slide catch on the left and so on.

In back you have medium beavertail, and the hammer is a small extended thumb that’s exactly where you’d expect it. The slide catch, thumb safety, have serrations while circular magazine release has a classic tight waffle pattern. This means tactile surfaces are everywhere you’d want, making operation intuitive.

The gun’s safety suite is a firing pin block, thumb safety and a grip safety. The firing pin block is a passive safety that prevents the firing pin from advancing unless the trigger is pulled. This is handy in instances such as if it is accidentally dropped.

The slide, disconnector and sear are carbon steel that’s machined using solid bar stock as a starting point. These are made and then heat treated for extreme long-term durability. The frame is carbon steel too!

Moving down is a grip safety, curved palmswell, solid trigger in a racetrack oval trigger guard and a lanyard loop. The magazines slam flat into the non-flared magwell.
