The matte black Beretta 92 Elite LTT Compact semi-automatic captivates with rich features, Italo-American styling, a 4.25” barrel and a slightly short frame that still packs a fearsome 15+1 double-stack capacity. All this is in a single-action/double-action package measuring 7.75” long, 5.25” tall and 1.5” wide with an unloaded 28.5 ounce/1.8 pound weight.

Superficially the LTT Compact is same and thus enjoys a commonality of parts with its full-size Elite LTT and medium Elite LTT Centurion siblings. In reality, however, the full-size has a larger frame that can handle 18-round magazines, slide and barrel while the Centurion has the same larger frame as the full-size gun but a shorter barrel and slide. The Compact differs has the shorter barrel and slide of the Centurior and then the shorter frame. Moreover, it also has a profile-reducing LTT spurless hammer in back compared to its siblings’ external hammers.

The Beretta 92 Elite LTT Compact sports a cut-length cut-away Vertec/Beretta M9A3 lightening slide that is open to the sky from just behind the front sight all the way to the breech face/back of the cut-down ejection port. It reveals much of the stainless steel barrel. Both the slide’s front and back feature tightly packed diagonal cocking serrations. The gun’s snout features curved beveling that flares out front to back.

The Beretta 92 Elite LTT Compact sight radius spans 5.75” between the red fiber optic front sight and blackout square notched rear sight. The red contrasts beautifully against the black of the rear sight. Both the sights have glare-cutting horizontal serrations. The rear sight eschews a ramp in favor of vertical surfaces at front and back, permitting one-handed slide operations against a suitable hard surface.

Just below the rear sight on the left-hand side of the slide is the coveted G-Model decocker thumb safety. This gun is full of thoughtful touches including the way this safety reveals a red dot on either side when in fire mode.

The barrel has a nice target crown that stands out nicely against the gun’s dark coloring. Under the muzzle is a single-slot Picatinny accessory rail.

The LTT Trigger is stainless steel, and thus stands out beautifully against the rest of the trigger guard that curves down before transitioning to a mild undercut. The front-face is nearly vertical, but also has a slight notch for more intuitive feel. Additionally, the trigger guard and trigger are significantly bigger than on the M1911. In contrast, the grip is narrower front to back and lacks a grip safety. These traits make the Beretta friendly to smaller hands. Below is a beveled magazine well.

The Beretta has an oversized magazine release and a medium-length beavertail.

The grip is 1.3” wide. It’s flanked by ultra-thin VZ/LTT G10 grips. Both these grip panels have deep cut tall diamond checkering, and they’re black, like the rest of the gun. They’re emblazoned with the LTT rondel logo.

Interestingly, the right grip panel shrouds the back of the disassembly latch and the magazine release. And they’re fastened to the frame using stainless steel hex head screws. The frontstrap and curved backstrap are pyramid stippled.

The gun comes with either a trio of Mec-Gar 15-round magazines or 10-round magazines.

The gun is, as already mentioned, matte black. But the finish is actually a Cerakote over the frame and slide while other parts are NP3 (nickel phosphorous) treated enhancing both durability and low friction.
