The Bergara B-14 Wilderness Ridge long-range bolt-action rifle is accurate, feature rich and high-quality. The Ridge has a free-floated #5 taper barrel by Bergara that gets a Sniper Grey Cerakote finish. The monolithic camouflaged stock is hand-painted with webbing over the Sniper Gray camo. In front you’ll see an impressive radial ported Omni muzzle brake Bergara says reduces felt recoil by up to 35 percent. It’s attached via a 5/8-24? TRP thread. The one-piece 4140 chromoly steel B-14 action has two-lugs, a sliding plate extractor and a fluted conical bolt handle. Accuracy meets or exceeds 1.0 MOA.

This gun spans multiple calibers. Most have barrels ranging from 20”-26”, overall lengths that are 39.5” to 46” and weigh 7.4 (for the .308 Win) to 7.9 pounds for the last three. All versions use a hinged floor plate. Capacity is 4 rounds in standard calibers, 3 in the two Magnum calibers and 2 for the .300 PRC, .28 Nosler and 6.5 PRC. This includes 6.5 Creedmore (1:8” twist ratio), 6.5 PRC (1:8”), .308 Winchester (1:10”), 7mm Remington Magnum (1:9.5”), .300 Winchester Magnum (1:10”), .300 PRC (1:9”) and .28 Nosler (1:9.5”). But there are two 18” short-barrel rifle outliers in 6.5 Creedmore and .308 Winchester. Both are 37.5” long overall, weigh 7.2 pounds and have a four-round capacity.

The Ridge features a short-action mini-chassis bedded into a SoftTouch finish molded stock and a Bergara Performance Trigger. The stock has pennant-surrounded checkering on both front and at the grip. The stock is also factory drilled and tapped for Remington 700 rings and bases. That everything feels high quality and steady with this arm is in part thanks to the Bergara Performance Trigger. The Ridge’s stock is backed by a thick black recoil pad. The totality is impressive!

Bergara precision barrels use advanced manufacturing techniques including face turning/barrel straightening, deep hole drilling, honing, rifling and stress relieving. Face turning smooths the bar stock and straightens it. Deep hole drilling creates the bore in the stock from one end to the other. Honing uses diamond-tipped bits to create near mirror-polished bore interiors in a way that’s much smoother than simply reaming it. Rifling uses a carbide rifling button that creates grooves at the determined ideal twist ratio. The final step is stress relieving which uses high temperature heating to align steel molecules! The result is an extremely high-quality barrel with sub .0002” grooves that is more affordable barrels often costing much more.

All this adds up to many reasons to consider a Bergara product.
