The Bond Arms Bullpup 9 is perhaps the only bullpup-style 9mm Luger made. Capacity is 7+1 with seven in the magazine and one in the chamber. The double-action only (DAO) gun’s barrel is 3.35” long, the overall length is 5.1”, and it weighs 17.5 ounces, or just a tad over a pound. Its dimensions, shape, weight and other characteristics make it clear Bond Arms was shooting to design an excellent easy to conceal carry weapon (CCW).

Bond Arms is well-known for making Derringers. Lots of them. So its Bullpup 9 comes as a nice revelation and puts the world on notice it’s not simply resting on its well-deserved laurels.

As of 2021, Bond is only making 150 Bullpup 9s monthly, making the gun a sought out limited edition. It’s a good-looking piece of work that’s an integrated collection of curves below the slide and straights on the slide.

The frame is matte black flanked by Bond’s own standard size Signature Engraved Rosewood Grips. The grips have the prominent Bond Arms Long Star badge at top followed by diamond checkering below that. This textured area has an upper curve. The grip’s palmswell has a pronounced curve. The trigger grip is oversize with a bulged belly curve. And there’s an inverted curve that leads up to the muzzle.

The gun has a pronounced docked beavertail in back. The takedown lever is almost flat, which helps keep the gun slim, but it’s still textured for consistent actuation. The magazine release is textured. And the magazine integrates in the overall contours of the gun, flush with the bottom, but with a small toe that works as a finger-rest. The grip’s front is nicely textured for a reassuring grip. Net: you can also hold this pistol easily in a two-hand stance if you wish.

Then for the slide, you have non-illuminated matte black 3-dot sights. Both front blade and drift-adjustable back ramp sights are dovetailed. The slide back has forward leaning slide serrations. The trigger pull weight is 6.5 pounds.

The gun comes with two single-stack 7-round magazines with witness holes. It’s worth noting the gun can be fired even when there’s no magazine in it. The bullpup isn’t available in California or Massachusetts. The Bond Arms Bullpup 7+1 9mm semi-auto is Made in USA at the company’s Granbury, Texas location, a few miles west of Fort Worth.
