The Browning Citori CX over and under shotgun lines up three models: the standard Citori CX, Citori CX Micro with Adjustable LOP and Citori CX with Adjustable Comb. All are good looking, reliable and durable. Fit and finish is eye-catching, and the intersection of key components is nearly jewel-like.
The three CX models are 12-gauge only. But you get a choice of 28” 30” or 32” long barrels. Overall lengths are 45”, 47” and 49” respectively and weights are 8 pounds 1 ounce, 8 pounds 3 ounces and 8 pounds 5 ounces respectively. Each has a 14 ¼” length of pull, 1 ½” drop at comb and 2” drop at heel.
The three models are largely the same except the butt stock. The standard Citori CX has a fixed stock backed by a large soft matte black rubber Inflex 2 recoil pad in back. The Citori CX Micro with Adjustable LOP has a 13 1/8” length of pull (LOP) and an adjustable LOP Graco buttplate stock. The Citori CX with Adjustable Comb has a fixed LOP but an adjustable comb.
You’ll appreciate how all have anti-corrosion and increased durability chrome-plated chambers, ivory bead front sights and grip checkering in pennants. The receivers are blued and unadorned but very clean and very nicely done.
These over and under shotguns feature three Invector-Plus interchangeable choke tubes, which are Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder (F, M, IC). They also feature VectorPro lengthening using forcing cones for improved shot pattern performance.
Citori CX over and under shotguns have Grade II black walnuts with elegant lines, automatic ejectors to eject fired hulls, inertia triggers that use the first shot’s recoil to reset the hammer for the second, and a locking bolt and hinge pin!
The 3/8-5/16" rib is beautifully bridged over the top barrel and has a 60/40 POI optimized for floating the target just a tad. Overall lengths are 45”, 47” and 49” respectively. Length of pull is 14 1/4", drop at comb is 1 1/2” and drop at heel is 2 1/4". The main non-walnut components are made of steel. This includes the machined steel receiver and steel barrel.
You also get 18 lines per inch (LPI) checkering for assured grip in front and back. Weight ranges from 8 pounds 1 ounces for the standard Citori CX 28” 12-gauge up to 8 pounds 9 ounces for the 32” Citori CX with Adjustable Comb.
