The 12-gauge Browning Cynergy Wicked Wing stands out with soft recoil, easy handling and quick shooting. It features camouflage enshrouding its composite stock and choices of 26”, 28” or 30” barrels and 3.5” chambers. Rather unusually, the Wicked Wing features an ivory bead front sight.

The Wicked Wing is one of the Browning Cynergy over/under shotgun range introduced in 2004 that has since proliferated to dozens of models. Key features include the low-profile receiver, low-profile action, reliable impact ejectors and the vaunted MonoLock hinge design. The MonoLock has two large locking pins and provides significantly more surface area for the hinge, resulting in more stable, solid and secure operations.

Back to the Wicked Wing. The steel receiver and steel barrel have a burnt bronze Cerakote finish. It also has three camouflage options: Realtree Max-5, Mossy Oak Shadow Grass Habitat and Mossy Oak Bottomland. All three show detailed consideration of actual, natural shapes of leaves, grasses, twigs and branches and the colors, forms and shadows one would see in flooded marshes.

The 26”, 28” or 30” barrels weigh 7 pounds 6 ounces, 7 pounds 8 ounces and 7 pounds 10 ounces respectively while their overall lengths are 43”, 45” and 47”. The three sizes are otherwise the same in features and configurations. People love the Cynergy for its looks and the way it handles so easily.

Both barrels and chambers are chrome-plated to help prevent corrosion. The surfaces at the grip and on the forearm are textured for your comfort. Moving forward, the guns come with Full, Modified and Improved Cylinder extended Invector-Plus banded choke tubes.

The Cynergy Wicked Wings feature a reverse striker ignition system that uses inertial recoil to reset for the second barrel, this super-crisp trigger resets immediately and purely mechanically preventing the second barrel from not firing. There’s also an incredibly short reset in between. So second shots can be extraordinarily quick.

Browning’s Triple Trigger System, is, to say the least, slick. It permits swapping out between three different trigger shoes: wide checkered, narrow smooth or wide smooth canted.

At back is an adjustable comb. There is also a thick, comfortable and absorbent long recoil pad made by Inflex. But the pad was integrated into the gun’s styling from the outset rather than tacked on to the back, so it enhances the style. The Inflex pad also features Parylene coating to maintain softness and keep it snag free. Finally, the pad also has a .25” spacer to optimize length of pull.

Speaking of which, the gun’s length of pull is 14 1/4" while drop at comb is 1 5/8" and the drop at heel is 2 1/2".
