The 9mm CZ-USA Scorpion EVO 3 platform semi-auto is a reliable and affordable blowback-operated pistol built around a short 7¾” barrel and four colors choices (matte black, Battleship Grey, OD Green and FDE). Capacity is 10+1 or 20+1. The combinations of color and magazines makes eight models total.

The receiver and handguard assembly are crested by an 11” MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail that’s handy for mounting optics. Optics aren’t included but adjustable and anti-glare serrated open sights are. The Scorpion includes three long additional Picatinny rails at 3 o’clock, 6 o’clock and 9 o’clock so you can kit one out in almost any way imaginable.

This Made in the Czech Republic’s designers made the gun fully ambidextrous controls like the ambidextrous thumb safety, ergonomically easy to use knobs and plenty more that can be adjusted with an Allen Wrench. The single-action trigger is adjustable for reach. And the Scorpion features a swappable non-reciprocating charging handle and an ergonomic hand stop at the front of the handguard.

The barrel is cold hammer forged for density and durability. Complimenting the barrel’s 7¾” length, height is 9.4” and overall length is 16.0”. The semi-auto’s weight comes in at a feathery 5.0 pounds unloaded.

2016 and newer Scorpions are fronted by a 1/2×28 TPI thread. The Scorpion comes factory standard with a mini-birdcage style flash-hider. The frame is fiber-reinforced polymer. The rear sling attachment point includes integrated QD sling swivel pockets. The standard polymer magazines are translucent, permitting easy counting and double-stack for increased capacity. The polymer grip has long vertical serrations for assured handling, and controls are well marked.

The Scorpion’s four colors - matte black, Battleship Grey, OD Green and FDE - sheathe the frame (including all four rails), the grip and the bottom part of the trigger guard. All the other bits including fasteners, safety, hand stop, flash hider, trigger, sights, magazine frame, etc., are matte black.

The EVO 3 platform is highly modular and configurable with braces, forends, grips, triggers, charging handles, safeties, mag releases, magazines and other optional items sold by CZ-USA.
