The light and compact Christensen Arms CA5FIVE6 is a .223 Wylde AR-type sporting rifle. The all matte black gun uses direct impingement to manage recoil and reload subsequent rounds. This modern gun has a very strong but simultaneously lightweight carbon fiber wrapped stainless steel barrel that’s 16” long. To this the CA5FIVE6 adds a three-prong flash suppressor, single-stage trigger, M-LOK handguard, minimalist stock and a sub-MOA guarantee!
The heart of this AR is its 416R stainless steel barrel that’s meticulously wrapped in carbon fiber. Thus it is very strong while simultaneously remaining remarkably lightweight. In fact, it’s three times stiffer than a similar weight steel barrel and won’t expand with heat. So it is heat resistant, dissipates heat much more rapidly than a steel barrel and is also corrosion resistant.
The nose is fronted by a 1/2"x28 TPI muzzle to which is affixed a black nitrided three-prong stainless steel flash suppressor. The bolt carrier group also has a black nitride finish.
Both the upper and lower receiver are nicely forged out of 7075 aerospace grade aluminum and matte black anodized. The lower receiver has a flared magwell for quick and easy magazine swaps.
The gun comes in a 16.0” barrel that has a 1:8” twist ratio. The barrel is six-groove button rifled and shelters in a 15” long M-LOK handguard. Both the upper receiver and carbon aluminum M-LOK handguard are topped by a full-length aluminum Picatinny rail that runs seamlessly from atop one to the other.
In back is an adjustable Mission First Tactical polyamide polymer Battlelink Minimalist stock. This matte black “L” shape American-made stock is 7.1” long, 5.2” tall, 1.7” wide and weighs 5.8 ounces. It has several sling slots and a thick, non-slip, horizontally ribbed rubber buttpad at the end.
At bottom is a single-stage match TriggerTech trigger known for its high quality and zero-creep movement. It’s factory-set to about 3 pounds of pull. All this makes the Christensen Arms CA5FIVE6 AR-type rifle a very capable rifle that’s Made in USA.
