The Citadel Defense Pump 12-gauge (often abbreviated to just CDP-12) pump-action shotgun is a matte black AK-platform VEPR compatible arm. That the CDP-12 is both pump-action and VEPR compatible are two good hints that this is a budget gun. But the uninitiated might not know because it looks sophisticated.
The CDP-12 has a matte-black polymer stock, pistol grip with prominent horizontal side grooves, fixed front sight, adjustable rear sight and a Picatinny rail atop the top dust cover. The focus of this gun is its 20” long barrel. There is an important pair of threes in the specification: the chamber is 3” and magazine capacity is 3. Therefore, the gun’s capacity is 3+1. The gun’s overall length is 40.5” and weight comes in at 6.1 pounds. In back is a nicely absorbent thick black rubber recoil pad.
This gun is all black. But there is also a CDP-12 Marine variant that has a marvelous stainless Cerakoted receiver, barrel, and magazine.
Finally, a third version is the Citadel Defense Pump Force is an upgrade that adds a taller raised tactical front sight, a Picatinny rail above the receiver, to which is affixed a Ghost Ring sight, and a three finger contour pistol grip. Weight is 6.4 pounds. Length rises by 5% to 42”. Otherwise the specifications are the same as the aforementioned standard Citadel Defense Auto shotgun.
