The Daniel Defense DDM4V7 P direct impingement tactical AR pistol family has a 10.3” long barrel, M-LOK type handguard and tactical brace. It comes in black and brown and in two primary calibers: the 5.56 NATO with a 1:7” twist and .300 Blackout with 1:8” twist. Regardless of color or caliber, key metrics are 5.3 pounds total weight, total length of 28 5/8". Both are geared toward tactical usage in tight quarters.

The new DDM4V7 P pistols come in either black or brown platform rifles are black. More precisely, for the brown version, the upper and lower receiver and handguard are all brown, but most everything else is black, gun metal gray or something that is dark and nearly black.

The DDM4V7 Ps have ambidextrous controls such as the safety selector and a GRIP-N-RIP charging handle that’s designed for suppressed fire and vents gases up and away from the operator’s face. They also have a non-adjustable low profile gas block machined of 4140 hardened steel and phosphate coated that’s set for suppressed shooting. Also it’s carbine length.

Regardless of length or caliber, the gun uses a phosphate coated, cold hammer forged, chrome lined steel barrel. The bolt carrier group is an M-16 type, which makes it a little heavier, but smoother operating.

Both upper receiver and lower receiver are machined from 7075-T6 aerospace industry aluminum that’s Type III hard coat anodized. The lower receiver has a flared magazine well and at rear, a QD swivel mount.

Fronting the barrel is a pronged Daniel Defense Superior Suppression Device made from 17-4 PH Stainless Steel and nitride finished. It’s attached via a 1/2”×28 TPI thread.

Daniel Defense makes many components in-house. The free-float handguard is no exception. It’s an M-LOK type that Daniel Defense named the MFR 9.0 Rail. It’s machined out of 6061-T6 aluminum and topped by a full length Picatinny accessory rail. It also has multiple sling swivel attachment points.

The gun comes without any sights, but it is ready for them! The handguard artfully flares forward below the muzzle. 6062-T6 is less strong than 7075-T6, but it’s great to use in this capacity since it is easier to form into things like handguards!

At back is a five position SB Tactical SBA3 pistol stabilizing brace with an integrated ambidextrous QD swivel attachment point.

The Daniel Defense polymer pistol grip has a unique soft touch zig zag tire tread pattern overmolded on the sides and back of the grip. The grip is nicely contoured with a shallow undercut under the gently curved trigger guard that bridges the gap between the box magazine and the grip.
