The FMK Firearms 9C1 G2 striker-fired semi-automatic will catch the eye of anyone wanting something a bit different from the usual choices. This Made in America 9 mm gun’s styling is not radical, but it’s contoured for snag-free concealed carry and even a quick glance will reveal that it’s different in a good way! Moreover, this gun checks boxes of being both affordable and feature-rich.

For starters, the frame has eight different color choices to couple with the black slide and other black components and trim. The frame choices are Black, Blue Jay, Brick Red, Burnt Bronze, Dark Earth, Dark Grey, OD Green and Pink Raspberry.

The stainless-steel barrel measures 4”, has six grooves and a 1:16” left-hand twist. The 9C1 G2’s maximum width is 1.14”, height is 5.09” and overall length is 6.85”. Thanks to the polymer frame, weight is 23.45 ounces, meaning a shave under 1.5 pounds.

Next, let’s examine the high-carbon steel slide. In profile, it’s broadly rectangular with bevels. But it’s also nicely cut down on the front flanks ahead of the ejection port. There are vertical grip serrations in back. The sights are Glock 19 types.

It comes standard with either two 14-round magazines or, for guns sold in Hawaii, Maryland and New York, two 10-round magazines. Regardless of capacity, these are drop free magazines.

The gun has an under muzzle Picatinny accessory rail and then a forward leaning trigger guard. The 9C1 G2 has a trigger safety, which is always very nice and much appreciated. The trigger guard ends with a sharp undercut. The magazine releases are ambidextrous and have a neat style to them.

The grip is attractive, functional and comfortable. It has three finger grooves in front and vertical grip serrations down all three. The flanks are texturized and, unusually, recessed in the middle. The rubberized backstrap is nicely contoured and ends up high in a docked beavertail. All of this helps mitigate felt recoil, control muzzle flip and increase comfort.

Then there is some stuff you might not notice immediately. The gun has two trigger action choices: the standard Fast Action trigger and Double Action Only (DAO). The two are swappable, so if you purchase the gun set up one way, you can later convert it to the other using an FMK Firearms trigger conversion kit. The gun also has a chamber loaded indicator.

The DAO version of the gun adds a mag-out safety that won’t allow the gun to fire without a magazine in it. It comes standard with a pair of 10-round magazines. There are only three frame color choices: Black, Dark Earth, and Pink. Otherwise, it matches the standard Fast Action 9C1 G2 in height, weight, width, etc.
