Glock’s full-size striker-fired .45 ACP is the Glock 41 semi-automatic pistol that comes standard black with a 13-round magazine.

Key dimensions start out with its slide lengthened to maximize sight radius that also offers added bonuses of reduced muzzle-flip and reduced felt-recoil. These three factors each pile on with compounding benefits to accuracy.

The slide is 1.00” wide and 8.31” long. This extensive length bequeaths a very generous sight radius of 7.60” with Glock Night Sights, 7.64” with steel sights and 7.68” with polymer ones. These dimensions mean a stable shooting platform and increased accuracy. Overall length is 8.78” while the G41’s height with the standard 13-round magazine shoved into the magwell is 5.47”.

The other big thing here is the 5.31” long barrel. That’s .31” longer than the standard M1911 full-size (Government) models. Conversely, the 5.4-pound trigger pull is lighter than that of many other Glocks.

The gun’s width grows a bit across the grips where it reaches 1.34”. At near the same place we can measure the trigger distance from the back of the docked beavertail to the front of the trigger face, which comes out to 2.85”.

The unloaded weight with no magazine and consequently no ammunition is 23.81 ounces, or just under 1.5 pounds. With all 13-rounds loaded into the standard magazine and with the magazine loaded into the gun, weight moves up to 36.51 ounces, or about 2.25 pounds.

The Gen 4 architecture means it has been designed for interchangeable backstraps to benefit different size hands. It also has a felt-recoil and muzzle-flip reducing dual recoil spring assembly, and it has a reversible magazine catch making life easier on left-handers.

The pistol grip has excellent ergonomics. It includes a trio of front finger grooves in front. The sides are textured. It has horizontal studded serrations in front and a pronounced horizontally serrated palm swell in back. The side grips are also pyramid studded.

Underneath the recoil spring housing is a single-slot accessory rail. And the frame tapers up from the trigger guard toward the muzzle. The trigger guard area itself is also tapered up.

The Glock G41 is made by both Glock in Austria and by Glock USA, based in Smyrna, Georgia.
