The Honor Guard semi-automatic 9 mm is highly accurate firearm that’s made in Gainesville, Georgia. It’s actually a family of three primary models: the Honor Guard Subcompact (HG9SC), Honor Guard FIST Frame (HG9SCF) (which stands for Firearm with Integrated STandoff) and Honor Guard Long Slide (HG9SCLS).

Both slide and barrel are ferritic nitro-carburized stainless steel. And along the top of the slide are snag-free sights.

The Honor Guard semi-automatics have some lovely detailing. Both front and rear have eight serrations apiece. However, their bottoms are gently curved. The front three and back three serrations end where the slide starts its barrel curve over the top. However, the remaining ten serrations continue all the way over the slide’s vault to the other side.

The pistol grip and frame is also beautifully designed. There are two finger recesses on the grip. The grip texture continues all the way to the index finger resting point above the trigger. A thick flat swath curves from the trigger guard/magazine release area all the way down to the pistol base. The texturing itself is nice and looks like woven canvas.

Key metrics for the Subcompact and FIST include a 3.2” barrel. The Subcompact has an overall length of 6.2”. The FIST’s frame juts forward of the slide and has an overall length of 6.6”. The Long Slide’s overall length is 6.8”. For the Subcompact and FIST, with an empty seven-round magazine, height is 4.6” while weight is 22 ounces. The Honor Guard Long Slide has a 3.8” barrel and weighs three ounces more coming in at 22 ounces.

All three models share a 1 to 10” RH barrel twist, recessed crown fronting the muzzle, HONOR GUARD etched in large letters on the slide, and a .96” width that nicely commensurate with the single-stack magazines.

The Honor Guard pistols come with both full and flat M1911 style (small) backstraps.

Trigger pull is about 7 pounds and the movement is short before bumping up to a stop at the back of the rounded trigger guard.

Safeties abound, and several are ambidextrous. This includes the slide catch, magazine release and an optional manual thumb safety available on all but the Honor Guard FIST Frame. There is also the striker block safety.

Honor Guard pistols come standard in black, but they have a panoply of frame color choices including Acid Green, Battleship Gray, Electric Blue, Enigma Blue, Flat Dark Earth, Mahogany, Olive Drab Green, and Turquoise. There are also options for slide colors and themes and one frame option for a two-slot under-muzzle Picatinny rail.

These guns come with either a 7-round or 8-round magazine. These magazines are stainless steel and have an elegant column of witness holes.
