The Israeli Weapons Industries (IWI) DAN .338 Lapua Magnum is a bolt-action tactical precision rifle capable of accurate shots to 1,300 yards. The DAN .338 arrived in America in 2017 and is the first bolt-action gun produced by IWI and was developed in conjunction with the Israel Defense Forces (IDF).

The heart of the gun is its cold-hammer forged free-floating 28” long barrel. It’s fluted, has a 1 to 10” twist and a 5/8” x 24 TPI threaded muzzle. Total length with the foldable stock fully extended is 50.4”, but stock folded, length becomes a more manageable 40.6”.

The gun comes without sights, but, of course, it has a full-length MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail to crest the receiver and handguard assembly while another one keels the bottom of the handguard. The DAN also has two moveable, short Picatinny rails one can position on either 3 o’clock or 9 o’clock rails.

The chassis is aluminum alloy. This IWI has an ambidextrous trigger block safety, an ambidextrous magazine release and a two-stage adjustable trigger.

The DAN .338 comes standard with two 10-round steel magazines.

The aluminum buttstock is highly skeletonized and includes a small Picatinny rail on the bottom. It can be optimized to suit almost anyone thanks to its adjustable comb, drop of heel and length of pull. The buttpad is very thick. Its skeleton design saves weight and the buttstock folds to the side.

The gun comes with both an aluminum Accu-Shot BT13-QK-PRM quick knob, adjustable folding, precision rail monopod and an Atlas BT46-LW17 PSR bipod that’s made of 6061-T6 and 7075-T6 aluminum. Both pods are designed to mount directly to Picatinny rails and both are American-made.

The weapon-only weight is 15.18 pounds. This gun is Made in Israel and imported by IWI, USA.
