You know your history if the .30 caliber 15+1 Inland Manufacturing M1 1945 Carbine reminds you of something from World War II. And for those who don’t, the 1945 moniker is a none too subtle reminder. Inland’s new products evoke their World War II progenitors but with enhancements and all the advantages of modern manufacturing and materials.

World War II was fought from 1939 to 1945, and when the United States joined in 1941, Inland Manufacturing, a GM division, received orders for three million guns. Most notably, Inland made the .30 Caliber M1 carbine and the M1A1 Paratrooper model, which had a folding stock for improved portability.

The guns were made in Dayton, Ohio during the war, and they’re made in the same city even now. The new Inland Manufacturing founded in 2013 is two miles from its World War II location. The new company also makes M1911s and .30 caliber M1 carbines.

Thanks to hard-earned battlefield experience, etc., the M1 was tweaked during production. This new M1 carbine is based on the 1945 version. The lower handguard and stock are an elegant piece of American walnut. The upper handguard is also American walnut. Most everything else is matte black. The M1 1945 features a push button safety, round bolt, a low wood walnut stock, an adjustable rear sight and a Type 3 Barrel Band with the bayonet lug.

This .30 carbine fits a 4-groove 1:20” twist ratio 18” length barrel within an overall 35.75” length. The weight is just 5 pounds 3 ounces. It comes standard with a 15-round magazine. It also has a 30-round magazine catch for compatibility with higher capacity magazines.
