The concealed-carry Kahr CM45 is a small, striker-fired, .45 ACP 5+1 semi-automatic from Kahr Arms of Greeley, Pennsylvania. Kahr positions the single-stack CM model subgroup as the smallest guns within their “value” series guns, but this belies the fact that the CM45 and its siblings are feature-rich firearms.

But keeping its pricing down compared to say, Kahr’s PM series of semi-automatics, are the following differences:

The stainless steel slide lacks front serrations, the slide markings are rolled onto the slide instead of engraved and the black polymer frame lacks under-muzzle Picatinny rail. The CM series has only one magazine instead of the three that come with the pricier PM series and it has conventional rifling instead of the PM’s match grade polygonal rifling. The slide stop is injection molded instead of being machined. And finally the front sight is pinned instead of adjustable.

Those are the differences. Now let’s cover what the CM45’s assets. The CM45 is small, thin and, thanks to its polymer frame, very light. It’s powerful yet still retains a low-felt recoil and is comfortable. But it still has eight chiseled rear serrations per side that are in line with the grip below.

Height is 4.49”, width is only 1.01” while overall length is 5.79". The CM45 only weighs 17.3 ounces unloaded while the empty magazine weighs another two ounces.

The .94” wide slide is made of 416 stainless steel that’s matte finished. Inside is a 3.24” barrel with a 1 to 16.38” right-hand twist.

The sights are the aforementioned pinned sight in front and a drift-adjustable white bar-dot combat rear sight that’s dovetailed into the slide.

The slide stop lever is molded. Both it and the circular magazine release are on the gun’s left hand side. The standout design element is the near figure 8 trigger housing around the forward tilted crescent trigger. The housing has two indents above the trigger into the frame and a slight indent in the bottom of the trigger guard.

The gun’s safety comes from its double-action trigger and its firing pin safety. There’s no thumb safety.

The frame is polymer. The flattened pyramid grips on the frontstrap and backstrap are convincing and molded directly onto the grip. The two grip sides are textured with the K (for Kahr) logo in the middle and are also molded directly onto the grip.

The Kahr CM45 comes standard with a solitary flush fitting stainless steel 5-round magazine that’s made in the USA.

The Kahr CM45 is made in Worcester, Massachusetts and thus Made in USA.
