DCR stands for Deluxe Carry Revolver. Kimber’s K6S DCR .357 Magnum DAO six-shooter is an aesthetic and functional beauty, combining things like a red fiber optic front sight, smooth satin finish and rosewood checkered grips in the smallest .357 Magnum revolver ever made. The DCR revolver has a 2” long barrel. Starting with this and engineering a small snag-free contour frame makes it an ideal concealed carry arm.

The frame, barrel, trigger and cylinder are all satin-finished stainless steel. The 1.39” diameter cylinder has wide flat flutings, one per cylinder and recessed chambers.

Atop the barrel is a pinned red fiber optic front sight. In back is a low-profile square-notch blackout dovetailed sight that can be easily adjusted for windage. The sight-radius in between is 4.1”.

As a double-action gun, there’s no hammer, but for safety there is an internal hammer block. The non-stacking match-grade trigger has a 9.5 to 11.5 pound factory-set pull-weight, which is consistent with its double-action only engineering. The gun delivers with mild recoil.

The rosewood grips are actually laminated, but they are rich, lined and lustrous and have a nicely placed Kimber logo near their bottoms. In other words, they’re very nicely and professionally done. The grip panels have diamond-checkering interrupted only by a recessed flat-head fastening screw.

The gun’s designers infused it with thoughtful details. To whit, the oval push button cylinder release has a nice pyramid checkered surfacing and at the back of the grip are long vertical serrations that contour beautifully down the curves.

The gun’s key metrics include the empty cylinder weight of 23 ounces, 4.46” height, 6.62” overall length and 1.39” width. The Kimber K6S DCR is made in Yonkers, New York, and is thus Made in USA.
