The 4+1 Marlin 444 lever-action repeating rifle marvelously combines 1890s aesthetics with modernity and its own flat trajectory .444 Marlin rifle cartridge. The result looks contemporary without being too retro. This gun is part of Marlin’s Model 1895 (Big Bore) Collection.
The 444 has a Ballard rifled 22” barrel, a 1:20” twist rate and a 40.5” overall length. The barrel and parallel magazine tube have a luxurious polished blued finish. The forend and buttstock are elegant and made of American black walnut. They have dovetail pennant flourishes around wonderfully tactile checkering and a nice diamond blaze within the checkering on either side of the grip. The gun has swivel studs, a thick black rubber buttpad and more.
The Marlin 444 comes standard with an adjustable semi-buckhorn rear-sight.
