The Mossberg MVP Precision is a trio of 6.5 Creedmore, 7.62mm NATO (.308 WIN) and .224 Valkyrie 10+1 AR-type long range bolt-action rifles. All three calibers have a 12.5” to 16.5” length of pull and a matte blued medium bull threaded barrel. Each is topped with a Picatinny accessory rail perched bridge-like above the chamber and breech area.

The three models differ slightly on specifications. They are the 7.62mm NATO (.308 WIN) (1 to 10” twist; 39.25” overall length; 9.2 pounds), 6.5 Creedmoor (1 to 8” twist; 43.25” overall length; 10 pounds) and .224 Valkyrie (1 to 7” twist; 38.62” overall length; 9.2 pounds). The first two have fluted barrels, which partially offsets the extra weight of the powerful medium bull barrel design and makes them easier to handle.

The 7.62mm NATO (.308 WIN) and .224 Valkyrie have 20” long barrels while the 6.5 Creedmore has a 24” length barrel. In all cases, the barrels have a 5/8”x24 TPI muzzle thread that comes with a protection cap.

Ensuring precision control is the clean-breaking Lightning Bolt Action (LBA) aluminum trigger that sits in a glove-friendly oversized notched trigger guard. The trigger is adjustable from 3 to 7 pounds of pull.

All three have matte black hard anodized chassis topped by a scope-ready 20 MOA Picatinny bridge rail. In front is a slim octagonal aluminum M-LOK handguard that’s matte blue-finished. This handguard is interesting and, with its forward facing bow opening, it’s aesthetically pleasing and chock full of M-LOK holes.

At back is an American-made Luth-AR MBA-3 buttstock. It’s an intricate piece of work with a six-position buffer tube that’s easily adjusted with a lever. It also has an adjustable comb and an adjustable length of pull. Both are unfastened/fastened using simple twist knobs. Length of pull can thus be moved a total of 4 inches from 12.5” to 16.5”. The buttstock has a built-in rail to attach a monopod, multiple sling attachment points, and it’s padded too!

The Mossberg MVP Precision uses the popular Magpul MOE+ grip. It combines a rubber overmolding plus a beavertail backstrap for improved comfort and handling. The grip is 1.2” thick, has horizontal serrations at front and back and features light texturing along the sides. It’s also hollow permitting storage through its bottom cap.

Though MVP Precision guns come with a Magpul PMAG 10-round magazine, they accept AR10/SR-25 and M1A/M14 class magazines
