The Noveske 16" Gen 4 N4-PDW Rifle’s name is fairly self-explanatory: it’s a fourth-generation personal defense weapon built around a 5.56mm NATO caliber 16” long threaded barrel.
Noveske perhaps sounds Russian or Swedish, but it’s American and based in Grants Pass, Oregon, in the southwestern part of that beautiful Pacific coast state. The full name is Noveske Fireworks LLC, and they make a nice lineup of AR-type semi-automatic rifles and pistols.
The barrel is a CHF (cold hammer forged) chrome-lined 5.56 Lightweight Contour Barrel with a 1:7” twist ratio. Ammo gets fed via extended feed ramps. The barrel weighs 30 ounces, is threaded, and in front the gun has a Hider-Q Cherry Bomb muzzle brake that’s perforated across 360 degrees and easy to attach and remove. The gun also has a .750” Lo-Pro gas block pinned to the barrel.
The barrel sits in one of two possible handguards. Both are NHR-15” free-floating handguards. One is a keymod and the other has M-LOK slots. Sitting on top the handguard and receiver is a nice pair of Magpul MBUS Pro Folding Sights.
Both upper and lower receiver are precision machined from 7075 T6 aluminum alloy. Like the barrel, they have a Type III anodizing that’s then Cerakoted.
On the gun’s other end is a two-position Q PDW-style stock that expands and collapses. Below is a Magpul K2 pistol grip.
There are several nice ambidextrous features including an ambidextrous 7075 T6 Noveske Super Badass charging handle, ambi magazine release, ambi bolt release, and finally, an ambi 60-degree STS safety selector.
The Noveske 16" Gen 4 N4-PDW has a premium Geissele SD-E trigger. SD-E stands for Super Dynamic Enhanced. It’s not adjustable, but the flat-face two-stage trigger has a factory-set pull weight range of 2.9 to 3.8 pounds.
These guns are anodized and then Cerakoted for superb durability, and they come with a 30-round magazine.
