The POF USA Revolution DI pistol is a semi-automatic direct impingement .308 Winchester (7.62 x 51mm NATO) AR-15. As such, it’s a high-tech, lightweight, multi-role firearm built around a very interesting fourth generation lower receiver.

Ironically, the Revolution DI is an evolution of the earlier .308 Winchester Revolution AR-15. However, this new for 2019 model features a smaller direct impingement system, shorter barrel and shorter overall length, but otherwise it is nearly the same. The result, however, is a gun that weighs 6.3 pounds instead of the already light 7.35 pounds of its stable-mate.

The aforementioned Gen4 lower receiver is a marvel designed for ambidextrous use. Thus it has an ambidextrous safety selector, ambidextrous bolt release, ambidextrous recessed finger rest just in front of the trigger and an ambidextrous magazine release above the trigger area, etc. It also has an oversized magwell flare to facilitate magazine swaps.

POF USA has patented its own 3” long oversized heat sink barrel nut. It’s a gorgeous piece of work, but its real beauty is that it’s made of aluminum, and this makes it many times better at heat dissipation than its usual steel counterparts. The 3” length adds rigidity and makes for smoother operations.

With long term reliability in mind, the Revolution DI features POS USA’s own E2 dual-extraction technology that helps vent and reuse gases to eject spent cases, thus decreasing the extractor’s work load.

The imposing handguard is an 11.5” long M-LOK Renegade free-floating rail with four integrated quick-detach sling mounts

The flat-head screwdriver-adjustable Dictator Adjustable Gas Block has nine positions permitting you to set the gun’s firing speed and gas flow to compensate for different ammunition, suppressors being on or off, etc.

The 12.5” long fluted chrome alloy barrel makes it relatively lightweight while retaining structural rigidity and strength. These barrels are machined for accuracy and nitride heat-treated for full corrosion resistance and have a 1 to 10” twist ratio.

On the front of the barrel is a nitrided three port muzzle brake to direct gases and reduce muzzle rise, thus mitigating recoil and allowing faster follow on shots.

On the other end of the gun is a minimalist 5 position SBA3 brace with a built in ambidextrous quick-detach sling socket.

The nitrided steel trigger is non-adjustable and is set to a 4.5 pound pull. It’s single-stage and sits in an anodized aluminum housing. The Revolution DI comes standard with a Magpul 20-round magazine and the gun’s total length is 29.5” collapsed.

The POF USA Revolution DI is one gun that comes in two color choices: black or burnt bronze.
