The Remington 700 PCR and Remington 700 PCR Enhanced bolt-action rifles are both based on Remington’s remarkable light, strong aircraft-grade aluminum Precision Chassis Rifle (PCR). Let’s talk about the 700 PCR, and then we’ll note the differences between it and the 700 PCR Enhanced.

For starters, the matte-black Remington 700 PCR is chambered for .260 Remington, 6.5 Creedmore or .308 Winchester. It has a free-floating 24” long matte blue carbon steel barrel. Inside is precision 5R rifling. The barrel is semi-obscured by an impressive aluminum M-LOK handguard. A 16-slot Picatinny rail bridges the ejection port.

In back is a Magpul PRS Gen3 stock optimized for configurability in length of pull, cant and cheek height while still giving strength and comfort. Length of pull and height adjustments are done via a pair of adjustment knobs. The PRS Gen3 also has a pair of tandem M-LOK slots along the bottom and a thick, rubber, non-slip buttpad. Length of pull is adjustable over 1.8” and cheek height is adjustable up to .8”. The entire assembly weighs 31.2 ounces, or a shade under two pounds.

The barrel ends in a threaded muzzle that comes with a muzzle protector for when you’re not using a muzzle brake. The conical tactical bolt knob is nicely designed. And at the bottom is a crisp Remington X-Mark Pro user-adjustable trigger. It’s factory set to 3.5 pounds of pull pressure, but users can adjust it from 3 to 5 pounds. It is nickel-plated, corrosion resistant and housed within a glove-friendly oversized trigger guard.

Behind it is a Magpul pistol grip. And, rounding the picture with Magpul components, the gun comes standard with a 5-round Magpul box magazine. Length of pull is adjustable from 13.25” to 15.25”. Overall length is 44” and weight is 10.5 pounds.

Thanks to the free-floating barrel and the other components, Remington 700 has sub-MOA accuracy with recommended ammunition. Remington tests to confirm the same of each gun using its CATS (Computer Aided Targeting System) before a gun ships new.

The Remington 700 PCR Enhanced is slightly different. For starters, it’s tungsten finished, which is very slick. It adds another Picatinny rail section you can mount anywhere on the handguard. The barrel is fluted, making for even more beautiful looks, but also improved heat dissipation. The bolt knob is skeletonized. In back is a very minimalist MDT SCS-Lite Cerakoted skeleton carbine stock machined of light but rigid 6061-T6 aluminum. It’s fully adjustable for cheek, has a 1” range for length of pull, and it even has a ventral M-LOK slot and two QD attachment points. All this is in something weighing just 1.6 pounds.

The 700 PRC Enhanced is chambered for is chambered for 6mm Creedmore, 6.5 Creedmore or .308 Winchester and comes standard with 10-round magazines versus the regular 700 PRC’s 5-round mag.
