The full size Remington RP9 9 mm Luger polymer-frame semi-automatic packs plenty of firepower into a light, affordable, package. It’s one of the Remington RP (Remington Polymer) guns, the other being the RP45 for .45 Auto ammunition.

The RP9 is a PVD finished black polymer frame with three dot dovetailed sights that are adjustable for drift. It’s well thought out ergonomically with front and rear slide serrations, a deep undercut in the trigger guard and long frame cuts behind it, a tall beavertail keyed to an optimal grip angle permitting grip closer to the recoil vector for more control and faster follow on shots, and more. Moreover, almost the entire frame including the exterior of the trigger guard is gently texturized, enhancing grip and cutting glare. The grip has the large Remington “R” etched into either side.

The gun comes with an under-muzzle three-slot Picatinny accessory rail. The takedown lever is on the left, the magazine release can be set on either side and the slide lock is ambidextrous. The RP9 also comes standard with three different backstraps to optimize it for the most comfort.

Key dimensions are overall length 7.91", width 1.27", height 5.56" and barrel length 4.5". Weight is very light at 26.4 ounces. The precision barrel has 6 grooves. The single-action safety trigger’s pull is smooth and crisp at 5.5 to 7 pounds, which is lighter than the pull weight of its RP45 sibling. This trigger face is vertically serrated for tactile feel.

The RP9 has three variants, all with easy loading double-stack magazines. The first is a 10+1 capacity gun while the other two are 18+1s. The difference between the two 18+1s is one has daytime sights while the other has Tritium night sights.
