Rock Island 1911 CS 45ACP ECS for Sale

The Rock Island Armory Rock Island 1911 CS 45ACP ECS name is fairly self-descriptive. It’s part of RIA’s Rock lineup of M1911 semi-automatics based on Series 70 architecture. The CS means Compact Size, and 45 ACP is the .45 ACP caliber, of course.

It’s a 7+1 single-stack, single-action, recoil-operated semi-automatic wrapped around a 3.63"" length, button rifled barrel whose 6-grooves spiral inside the bore at a 1:15.7” twist ratio.

The pistol is nice looking with plenty of eye-catching details. To wit, it has seven nicely spaced slide serrations that tilt forward at back. The frame and slide are stainless steel. The other exposed parts are strong and hard high-grade SAE 4140 chromium-molybdenum alloy steel that’s given a matted chrome finish.

The grips are double diamond checkered wood. This means they have the up and down arrowhead shaped surrounds around the flat-head grip fastening screws and then a diamond wood texturing in between.

Otherwise, the gun shares many features with its other Rock siblings. This means it gets a nicely upturned beavertail, skeletonized loop hammer, adjustable overtravel stop skeletonized trigger and fixed dovetailed sights that are angled for snag-free unholstering. The sights are also Parkerized and thus anodized for wear and corrosion resistance. The rear sight is cantilevered and ramped, giving you improved usability and a better sight radius, which leads to higher accuracy. You also get an ambidextrous grip safety.

The trigger is beautiful, triple ported, and has an adjustable overtravel stop. Trigger pull is factory set to 4 to 6 pounds. Unloaded weight is a neat 2 pounds. Overall height is 5 1/8"", overall width is 1 5/16"" and overall length is 7 3/8"".
