The Rock River Arms (RRA) Predator Pursuit Mid-Length and Predator Pursuit Rifle LAR-15M AR-15s evolve RRA’s Standard A4. Each has a .223 Wylde chamber that accommodates both 5.56mm NATO and .223 calibers. Each is a matte black 20+1 capacity semi-automatic assembled around a stainless-steel barrel ranging from 16” to 24” in length.

Let’s tour both models. The Predator Pursuit Mid-Length is nearly all black excepting the stainless-steel barrel. The upper receiver is a forged A4-type upper crested by a lengthy accessory rail. The lower receiver is a forged RRA LAR-15M that RRA loves using on many guns. The visually striking latticework handguard is hard coat anodized 6061 aluminum with a top MIL-STD-1913 Picatinny rail and M-LOK flank slots.

The Predator Pursuit Mid-Length has a carbine-length 16” barrel with a 1:8” twist ratio. The gun wears a 12.5” long handguard and extends 34.25” overall. The gun enjoys a heavy match stainless steel barrel that’s air gauged, cryogenically treated and, very impressively, half a pound lighter than the same in a bull barrel configuration.

Below, you’ll see a matte black Hogue rubber grip. Hogue makes great stuff and is very popular for good reason. This grip has nice texturing and three semi-circular finger grooves. There’s also an oversize concave trigger guard between the magwell and grip; this excellent ergonomic touch frames out ample room for gloved fingers. The trigger guard shields an RRA two-stage trigger. In back is the fixed A2 stock and a sling swivel at the heel.

The totality of components and quality construction delivers very impressive 3/4 MOA accuracy at 100 yards. Total weight empty is just 7.0 pounds, and the gun comes standard with a 20-round mag.

Second, the Predator Pursuit Rifle is the same as the Predator Pursuit Mid-Length except it sports a 20” barrel and a 15” free-float handguard. Total length grows correspondingly to 38.25”. Everything else is the same. The increased length adds .9 pounds, so this model tilts the scales at 7.9 pounds.

RRA is no mere integrator, but a proper manufacturer based in Colona, Illinois. Thus, many key components are made inhouse. And these guns are rightfully proclaimed Made in USA.
