Savage Arms Renegauge Turkey is a 12-guage semi-automatic shotgun draped in a matte Mossy Oak Obsession woodsy green to brown palette camouflage that covers the barrel, synthetic forend, aluminum receiver and synthetic Monte Carlo stock. About the only things that stand out from this outstanding scheme are the black buttpad and the fiber optic front sight.
The gun features a 24” long carbon steel fluted barrel. The barrel has a Melonite finish for rugged durability and connects back to a 3” chamber.
The Renegauge has glove-friendly oversized controls and is designed for right-handers. The carbon steel rib on top is ventilated and laser-welded to the barrel.
The lightweight one-piece bolt carrier is laser welded and chrome-plated for durability. That the action bar, pusher sleeve and carrier have been welded together makes the gun easier to maintain.
Catalyzing the action is Savage’s patented self-regulating dual-valve gas system. Savage calls it DRIV (Dual Regulating Inline Valve), and it’s a revelation. This allows the gun to automatically mitigate recoil while simultaneously handling both high-power 3” Magnums and low(er) power 2 3/4" loads without any adjustments or modifications. DRIV sends to the back the amount of gas needed to cycle the bolt carrier and vents the rest of it out the front. No wonder Savage patented it!
This Savage includes Extended Turkey, Full and Improved Beretta/Benelli Mobile choke tubes.
Each Savage Renegauge has three recoil pads of different thicknesses permitting varying length of pulls that can be set from 14.25” to 15.07”. The recoil pads have anti-slip ribs and red visibility marks. There are also three different comb height inserts. Finally there is a shim package for further adjustments to the comb’s drop and cast. The recoil pads and the comb inserts are all made using Savage’s own recoil minimizing gel.
The gun has a four-round tube magazine plus one can be chambered manually making it a 4+1. The competition-ready loading port is beveled and angled making loading easy.
Overall length is 45.5”. Total weight is 7.8 pounds. The Savage Renegauge is Made in USA.
