The little Sig Sauer P238 Desert Combat is a lightweight all-metal 380 Auto semi-automatic optimized for concealed carry. This high-quality, accurate, reliable and powerful gun is essentially a mini M1911 wrapped around a 2.7” long carbon steel barrel. Other key dimensions include a 3.9” height, 1.1” width, 3.8” sight radius and 5.5” overall length. Total weight is 15.2 ounces, so not even a pound. The P238 lineup is very popular for good reason and has been around for over 10 years now.

The stainless-steel slide is topped by SIGLIGHT night sights. In back, the slide has seven shallow diagonal grip serrations and a loop hammer. Below it is the thumb safety. The safety’s front pivots up or down. Up is locked and down is ready to fire. The alloy frame also enjoys a nice medium beavertail

The slide stop, thumb safety, magazine release are all on the left. They’re intuitively placed. But as if to hammer home a point, Sig has made them black. Thus they stand out against the Cerakoted desert tan finish of the slide and grips and of the frame’s similar light tan finish that’s also Cerakoted on for superb durability.

The gun is single action only (SAO). The solid curved trigger prevents placing the trigger finger in the wrong place when in a big hurry.

The gun has an FDE Hogue rubber grip with finger grooves and comes with a single 7-round extended steel magazine that has counting holes.
