The STAG ARMS STAG 10L is a lineup of several AR-10 semi-automatic direct-impingement guns available in with three different buttstocks, two handguard designs, two grips, 416R stainless steel barrel lengths that run from 16” up to 24” and two different muzzle brakes. Calibers covered include 6.5 Creedmore and .308 Winchester.

There are roughly 10 models in current production. The upper receivers are forged of 7075 T6 aluminum. Their finish is either matte black Type 3 hard coat anodizing or an FDE Cerakote.

It should be said right off the bat that STAG makes these guns both in right-handed and left-handed ejection versions, shifting the ejector port and various controls as necessary. So you don’t need to compromise when buying a STAG.

A good example is the STAG10SL, which is the 20” “short” barreled left-hand model chambered in .308. The 16.5” long M-LOK handguard has a cross-section that’s nearly circular on the inside and octagonal on the outside. Both the handguard and the upper receiver are crested by a continuous Picatinny rail.

The M-LOK slotted sides connect to the top and bottom via an elegant latticework that’s far stronger than its thin looks imply. Inside is the beautiful stainless-steel barrel, and above it the low profile gas block that connects to a rifle length gas system. The barrel ends (or starts) in a 5/8”x24 TPI thread.

Fronting the gun is a CNC-machined recoil-damping VG6 Gamma 65 hybrid muzzle brake and compensator that has an ultra-modern three chamber design that’s topped long and thin dorsal compensator ports. It weighs 2.4 ounces, is made of heat-treated stainless steel and given a black nitride satin finish. Technical details aside, it looks great and performs great.

In back is a MAGPUL ACS (Adaptable Carbine/Storage) MIL-SPEC buttstock. This stock is a clever design that even has a small storage bay toward the back and higher up two rear-accessible water-resistant storage tubes.

At the bottom is a Hogue overmolded pistol grip with three finger recesses and side texturing that feels just right.

The Stag 10L ARs come standard with a 10-round PMAG magazine. They are made in New Britain, Connecticut, so these guns are Made in USA.
